Epcot

It's not quite what Walt had envisioned as his prototype community of tomorrow, but partly so. It's also not what some people think of as an adults-only Park given several of it's high-tech and most popular rides anywhere, albeit this is probably the most grown-up Park with it's great shopping, eating, and drinking places around World Showcase, along with the annual International Flower & Garden Festival and super spectacular International Food & Wine Festival. This is a favorite of Da Guy's for sure!

The Best

Da Guy's Personal Don't Miss Attraction List

He's not just a roller-coaster kinda guy, but as you'll see loves the big spectacles. No one does them like Disney!

  1. Soarin'-- from California, and wow, it's outstanding
  2. The American Adventure -- relive the history of the US with a classic Disney superb production like nothing you've seen before. Ben Franklin and Samuel Langhorne Clemens (aka Mark Twain) are your hosts.
  3. Illuminations Reflections of Earth -- every night at 9PM
  4. Food and Wine FestivalInternational Food & Wine Festival -- Adults will find this special "every Fall" event is more than icing on the cake on top of everything else in the Park. Be sure to check out the website for schedules of events and activities to sign-up for well in advance of your travel.
  5. Test Track -- super! Not scary, just fast!
  6. Turtle Talk with Crush -- the little ones will love it as they interact with Crush, and so will da big ones in this live and always different interactive show. You'll be amazed how technology is used to make it all come together. A must-see for everyone.
  7. Honey, I Shrunk the Audience -- classic 4-D show
  8. O Canada! -- a classic Circle Vision movie and that song you won't get out of your head
  9. The Seas with Nemo and Friends -- a well done, and sorely needed refresh opened in early 2007 to the Living Seas pavilion. Ride in your clam-mobile to find Nemo and his friends in this animated, but technical show integrated within the aquarium.
  10. Ellen's Energy Adventure -- Da Guy is not sold how good that Audioanimatronic Ellen is, but the intro and ride technology are unmatched
  11. Spaceship Earth -- everyone wants to see what's inside

...not on Da Guy's normal hit parade, but may be when he's playing tour guide with friends

  • Mission: Space -- There are two versions of this since Summer 2006, one with and one without the G-Force. Da Guy prefers "without please". Call him a wimp if you like, but let's try the Tower of Terror as many times as you want to go, OK? You thrill seekers have fun in the orange line -- Da Guy will take the green line. Just remember -- please don't eat before you ride ...and if you don't like cramped spaces, this one isn't for you either!

Favorite places to eat in the Park

Food and snacks are part of the Epcot experience. With few exceptions, the food and drink is more upper-class than you have in the other Parks, which is great. Here's Da Guy's favorites as you go counter-clockwise around the two sections of the Park. All of these are available year-round, and when the International Food and Wine Festival is going, add another 25+ locations to that list in World Showcase. Your diet will go to pot, for sure.

Oh! Given that Epcot has the International Gateway (a back entrance) between France and the United Kingdom in World Showcase, you can take a short stroll to other great places to eat at Disney's Boardwalk and Disney's Yacht & Beach Club Resorts as well. Check out Da Guy's favorite places to eat there by clicking here.

Future World

Innovations East

  • Electric Umbrella $ -- one of the two burger places, if you really must have one here

The Land

  • Sunshine Season Food Fair $$ -- a really outstanding food court downstairs, and not your ordinary fare. Give it a try after you go Soarin'.

The Living Seas

  • Coral Reef $$$ -- good table service restaurant where every table has a terrific view of the living sea, while you dine on ocean specialties. If you're really lucky, you may even see a Scuba Mickey!

World Showcase

Mexico

  • Cantina de San Angel $ -- outdoor counter service tacos, margaritas, and more. Get there very early and have a few libations before Illuminations each evening. Not the best viewing spot, but with a couple of margaritas, who cares?
  • San Angel Inn $$ -- outstanding table service inside, from the owners of a famous restaurant in Mexico City

Germany

  • Biergarten $$ -- it's Oktoberfest all the time here. Clink those steins and have some German buffet. A fun place with a group.

USA

  • Liberty Inn $ -- if you must have your burger or chicken fix while you're on this end of the Park, here you go!

France

  • Boulangerie Patisserie $ -- you don't have to go to Paris to enjoy one

United Kingdom

  • Rose & Crown Pub and Dining $$ -- Table service and a great English Pub. You absolutely must have their #1 seller, the Fish and Chips -- there is no better, even in London these days.

Canada

  • Le Cellier Steakhouse $$ -- Terrific beef

International Food and Wine Festival

International Food & Wine Festival Don't miss out on this once-a-year special event that throws an already outstanding set of dining experiences over the top. Check it out!
