At Wynn in Las Vegas by the same director as Mystere, O, and Celine's show. It's not Cirque du Soleil's Mystere, O, or Ka, but is in-the-round, with water, very close seats to the action (avoid the splash zone), has amazing feats of strength by the actor/acrobats, and is very "artsy" -- but unfortunately has a soundtrack that you won't want to listen to outside the theatre like most Cirque du Soleil shows. Worth seeing if you're at Wynn, or have seen all the other Cirque du Soleil shows.
Awesome show with that turntable stage.

A super touring company seen in November 2006 at the Ahmanson. The color pallet, sets, lighting and costumes were terrific, along with an outstanding score by Adam Guettel (son of Richard Rogers). No wonder this show won so many of the 2005 Tony's. The voices of Christine Andreas, Eleana Shaddow and David Burnham were superb. It was great to see Christine again -- just perfect in this role, and Da Guy is already looking forward to Eleana and David's next performance. An outstanding show in every way.
What a performer in this revival of her Tony Award winning show. Fabulous. 5-2003

Perhaps one of the best current-day family oriented shows. It does not matter if you're 8 or 80, you're going to love this show, as Da Guy has many times on both Broadway and in the West End. The Las Vegas production is next in line!

A newer show from Disney, and it's great ... based more on the original books than the movie, but include those memorable songs from the movie you'll remember, with a little twist and some new ones for good measure. Da Guy saw it in the West End on November 26, 2005, but it's now also playing at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre.
Another classic. Long-time run at the Broadway Theater in NYC across from David Letterman's place, and on tour throughout the world. Perhaps the most interesting version Da Guy ever saw was in Tokyo, at the Imperial Theatre across from the Imperial Palace ... all in Japanese!
What a fun New Year's eve show in 1979 this was one year in Los Angeles, with Dick Van Dyke in his prime, as the one and only Music Man!

There was no cast album with Dick Van Dyke, but try the original classic with Robert Preston or recent revival with Craig Bierko that Da Guy saw on Broadway

No Julie Andrews, but Rex was still a classic in this revival.

Outstanding performance by Tommy Tune and Twiggy! Great tunes and show.

The original version on Broadway with Raul Julia. Sorry, but the revivals just don't hack it in comparison!

A terrific revival with Laurence Guittard and introducing us to Christine Andreas.

It was super to see Rock Hudson live on stage in this touring company from Broadway, but he was no singer, Da Guy hates to say. Imogene Coca and Judy Kaye were outstanding. Da Guy can still picture Imogene on front of that train -- a sight Da Guy will never forget from September 1979.
