What a great review with the ultimate choreographer, Bob Fosse. The first time Da Guy saw this was in August 1979, with a great orchestra seat for $16.50 at the Pantages... Wow-wee!
See the Cirque du Soleil page for more details here.
On stage was fantastic, and the big-screen version in 2006 translated well with some great performances.

Da Guy saw this original on-tour London production in December 2006 at the Ahmanson with the original Sam Archer in the role of Edward. The show is based on the the classic 1990 Tim Burton and Johnny Depp movie of the same name. Don't expect a recreation of the movie though. This is a no dialog, all dance show, with well-integrated additions to the Danny Elfman score. Terrific lighting and sound effects. It was very well done in every way, especially the unexpected curtain finale. Check it out if you have the opportunity as this company travels quickly around the US through mid-2007.
What a classic from April 2003. Re-live it on CD or DVD!
Da Guy has seen so many of these productions over the years he can't count them -- from the pre-broadway run in Century City, California, to revivals in Los Angeles, to Broadway and the West End. This is the one that started a whole new type of musical, from Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice.
Bob Fosse. Choreographer extraordinaire, and da Guy could watch these moves for hours. New York, Los Angeles, and London -- and DVD whenever he likes!!!
Whoopi took over for Nathan Lane for a few weeks, and was she a scream. An outstanding night on the town!
Great show, and I finally got to meet Edmund Lyndeck -- the original Judge Turpin in Sweeney Todd where Da Guy's brother first met him. 1991
Harvey Firestein -- oh my, how funny was that!
After seeing Carol Channing in many performances, Da Guy's favorites are these from 1977 with Eddie Bracken and 1982 with Tom Batten.
Who would have thought Matthew Broderick could sing, and he went on to The Producers and other shows from here. TERRIFIC performance on Broadway.
Classic Sondheim, with all the leading players including Bernadette, and Cleo on tour. Watch it on DVD and remember that original cast! Yippee!

Da Guy has seen this an untold number of times in Seattle and on Broadway. It's the beginning for Linda Eder, and there is no other Jekyll & Hyde than the original Robert Cuccioni.
Watch the commercial for the original Broadway production onThe best of all the big numbers in all the shows he did over the years. Da Guy of course loved it!!!
It's all about the history and music of the Four Seasons! A super Original Cast Album and winner of several Tony's. Da Guy saw the touring company at the Ahmanson in June 2007 and it was a show he won't soon forget! The permanent version at the Venetian in Las Vegas is pretty dang good too!
See the Cirque du Soleil page for more details here.
Well, to say this is a classic is an understatement. Da Guy was fortunate to see Yul in three difference productions as the King, but this one with Constance Towers was a Broadway and tour hit. One Da Guy will never forget how when Yul Brynner walked on stage, you could feel his commanding presence. Awesome.
From the movies to the stage. A great production on Broadway spanning three leading ladies.
